Telepsychiatry Services

Washington & Oregon Telepsychiatry Services

If you reside in the state of Oregon or Washington and are seeking telepsychiatry services, my practice is available to you. As a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I offer flexible appointment hours including mornings, afternoons, and evenings, which helps if you need to schedule a telepsychiatry appointment outside of your normal working hours.

My telepsychiatry services include initial evaluations for new clients and medication management for follow-up care. You can also visit my frequently asked questions for additional information about my practice, insurance coverage, and policies.

What is Telepsychiatry?

Telepsychiatry is a practical and effective alternative to in-person care. My telepsychiatry practice uses a secure HIPPA-compliant online medical office platform for all our interactions, allowing you to conveniently attend your appointment on a desktop computer, tablet or phone from the privacy of your home or elsewhere. This provides increased accessibilty to help when you need it the most, and you don’t have to travel to an appointment and sit in a busy waiting room.

Initial Psychiatric Evaluation

A Telepsychiatry evaluation assesses how I can effectively treat you.

If you are seeking telepsychiatry services, I encourage you to review the conditions I treat to see if Guided Telepsychiatry Services is a fit for your needs. If so, you can reach out to me to schedule a new client appointment. Your initial appointment will consist of a telepsychiatry evaluation which is an hour long interview where we explore your symptoms and stressors, so your condition can be diagnosed and an individualized treatment plan provided.

If the evaluation indicates a medication regimen is required to control or improve your condition, we’ll discuss my recommended treatment plan for your needs. Other treatment options such as a psychotherapy session may also be helpful to control or eliminate the symptions that are troubling you.

In some cases, depending on your needs for ongoing care, you may be provided with a referral for more intensive psychotherapy.

Follow-up care

Telepsychiatry Medication Management

If your psychiatric evaluation indicates a medication regimen is necessary to help control or eliminate the symptoms you are experiencing, your follow-up appointments, which last for 30 minutes, will typically be for medication management. In this appointment, I will assess if the medication regimen is helping you, or perhaps needs to be altered. This is the optimal time to discuss any questions or concerns you have about your treatment plan.

A telepsychiatry psychotherapy session may also be included in my services offering depending on your needs, and lab work may be required for ongoing care to ensure your medication levels are accurate.

Schedule III-V drugs ( ie. Ativan, Xanax, Klonpoin and Ambien) may be prescribed for a short time and only if indicated. If subsequent future refills are needed, we will require an inperson visit or a referral from your Primary Care Provider (PCP), who has had an inperson visit with you and has an active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration. Your PCP must provide a referral stating that you need further ongoing evaluation as the need for continuing the schedule III-V medication.

All clients who will require the one-time inperson visit for future refills of the schedule III-V medications will be able to schedule this ahead of time on a quarterly basis.
